At least one position is available for a postdoctoral fellow to work on one of the following projects.

The Futerman lab has worked on sphingolipids for >30 years, and has largely focused on SL synthesis via the ceramide synthase (CerS) family, and on lysosomal storage diseases, specifically neurological forms of Gaucher disease. A new project is about to be initiated in the lab on ‘Lipid Complexity’ which will involve three major research areas, namely the role of lipids in origin of life models, the fine-tuning of lipid bilayers, and the functional interplay between membrane lipids (ceramides) and proteins (CerS). The candidate should be enthusiastic about lipids and be willing to think creatively and ‘outside the box’. Candidates should contact Tony at tony.futerman@weizmann.ac.il.
